Why I Don’t Weigh Myself and Tips to Break Up With Your Scale

“SCALE DISCLAIMER: 1. The # before you will vary each day and multiple times per day. 2. This scale will NOT tell you the following: What a great person you are. How much your family and friends love you. That you make a stranger melt w/ your beautiful smile. You have the power to choose happiness. You are worthy.”

This really spoke to my soul today so I wanted to shed some light on it. I never weigh myself anymoreย #freeing, but I know a lot of women who do and face this struggle. I mean, I was married to the scale for 10+ years w/ my ED.

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”นHere are THINGS that helped me break up with the scale and TIPS FOR YOU TO USE:
โœŒ๐ŸปAcknowledging that my weight fluctuates DAILY. My weight may even fluctuate HOURLY. Why should I be obsessed with a number that is ALWAYS CHANGING?

โœŒ๐ŸปAll this number tells me, is my gravitational pull to the earth. THAT’S IT.

โœŒ๐ŸปI feel a million times better by NOT constantly weighing myself and worrying if i’m losing weight, gaining weight, etc. I just wanna feel HAPPY and HEALTHY. I can feel these things WITHOUT the scale. I FOCUS ON NON-SCALE VICTORIES NOW!

โœŒ๐ŸปWeight loss doesn’t mean success. Weight gain doesn’t mean failure.

โœŒ๐ŸปScales can be inaccurate. The number on the scale can change from scale to scale, by the amount of clothes i’m wearing, by the amount i’ve eaten or haven’t eaten yet, if i’ve gone to the bathroom, and SO MUCH MORE. Again, the number is always changing.. that’s normal. Nothing to freak about here.

๐Ÿ”นNow: How do scales make you feel? If they make you feel poorly, why keep returning when you know the end result? Why not avoid the things that make you feel bad? Shameful? Why not start a NEW routine? A more loving routine??

๐Ÿ”นWho here wants to make a PROMISE to not weigh themselves?? For a few days? For a week??
